This week I’ve been:

  • Doing some (early) thinking about the link between smartphone apps and web literacy.
  • Working out expenses and reimbursements.
  • Booking travel for the #TeachTheWeb team huddle in London next week.
  • Thinking and writing about metrics and learning taxonomies. I’ve written more on this but I’m not ready to share it just yet.
  • Responding to a request for where to start with digital literacies (see blog post).
  • Moderating and contributing to a NWP Educator Innovator webinar on web literacy.
  • Trying out Slack with my Mozilla colleagues.
  • Discussing a couple of changes I’ve proposed to the Web Literacy Map with various people.
  • Hosting this week’s #TeachTheWeb community call.
  • Finishing the first draft of the upcoming Webmaker whitepaper. Karen Smith helped a lot with this, so I’m very grateful. It’ll be available for public consumption soon, probably via the Webmaker list.
  • Hanging out ‘Trellbeering’ with the #TeachTheWeb team. It’s a term we’ve invented for an end of the week virtual hangout where we triage Trello tickets while drinking alcohol.
  • Responding to invitations to speak at various events. I’m trying to say ‘no’ more and prioritise my time.
  • Talking with Cassie McDaniel, Brett Gaylor and Atul Varma about more fully integrating the Web Literacy Map and webmaker.org.
  • Reviewing a book (hopefully) soon to be published by MIT Press.
  • Discussing potential UK-related Open Badges stuff with Tim Riches.

Next week I’ll be in London for the first part of the week before returning home to do some writing.
