This week I’ve been:

  • Travelling to/from London. This week I stayed over at the Clerk & Well. Expensive, and with less facilities than a serviced apartment – but finished to a very high standard.

  • Kicking off an ICT Club at my kids’ school. They’re both ineligible as the school decided it’s Year 4 only! We did a cut-down version of the Hack the News activity, which went down well.

  • Recording Episode 7 (‘Vote for TIDE’) of the Today In Digital Education podcast with Dai Barnes.

  • Documenting a community alignment model on my wiki.

  • Attending the London edu #tweetup. It was great to see Dawn Hallybone, Oliver Quinlan, Tony Parkin, et al.

  • Failing the ‘Google Foundations’ part of Barclays’ (otherwise pretty good) Digital Driving License. Why I need to know the product manager of one of Google’s products is beyond me.

  • Brainstorming ideas with Bryan Mathers.

  • Catching up with Chalon Bridges, Director of Learning and Partnerships at DIY.org. My son’s been doing DIY Camps and I wanted to talk to her about Open Badges! I also spoke with Grainne Hamilton and Seb Schmoller about badges this week.

  • Getting involved with an inaugural Open Badges strategy group meeting at City & Guilds. Great things will happen!

  • Co-leading a webinar with Sven Laux and Bryan Mathers for Learning Futures.

  • Writing:

    • A Community Alignment model
    • Why you should create canonical URLs
    • Wednesday Wisdom #34: Promises
    • An exciting week for Open Badges

Next week I’m in London Tuesday/Wednesday working from the C&G offices, running a webinar on digital literacies for Lund University in Sweden, and reviewing my first month as a consultant. I think I might start calling myself into the office again at the start of each month…
