This week I’ve been:

  • Issuing lots of Webmaker badges (and updating the guidance for issuers)
  • Thinking through the first steps towards a version 2.0 of the Web Literacy Map. I’ve proposed a session on it at the Mozilla Festival this year.
  • Encouraging people to propose sessions for MozFest 2014 now that the deadline has been extended by a week.
  • Using 3D printing as a metaphor for Open Badges.
  • Hosting the Badge Alliance working group chairs’ meeting as the BA team were on a work week.
  • Reflecting on my Hill Skills course last weekend.
  • Writing about going beyond the Facebook ‘like’ and Twitter ‘favourite’ binary.
  • Collaborating with Laura Hilliger, FuzzyFox, Jess Klein, and Sarah Allen about a ‘roving ringers’ idea for MozFest.
  • Putting together a draft video for iDEA showing how to claim the Web Literacy Skill Sharer badge. Unfortunately, there’s a bug when importing audio from Soundcloud in Popcorn Maker, so it’s not ready yet.
  • Asking various people to consider being a mentor at Maker Party Newcastle 2014.
  • Writing about sharing being an integral part of web literacy on the Webmaker blog.
  • Meeting with Marc Lesser from MOUSE to discuss the future of the Web Literacy Map, and contributing a case study for the alignment page on the wiki.
  • Considering how to re-organise my home office – including colour scheme, etc. I quite fancy having a world map decal on one of the walls.

Next week my wife and children are visiting the in-laws, leaving me at home to work. It’ll be interesting to see how much my day varies – especially in terms of when I go to bed, wake up, eat, and so on.
