Top Firefox 2 extensions for educators?

Jeff Utecht asks what the 5 best Firefox 2 add-ons for educators are currently. His list reads:

  • Del.icio.us (bookmarks)
  • Zotero (research tool)
  • Googlepedia (shows related Wikipedia articles when searching Google)

Others, in the comments section, have added, amongst others:

  • Performancing (post to blogs from anywhere)
  • Permatabs (makes some tabs ‘sticky’)
  • Diigo

I think the following should be added:

  • Google Reader (updates to RSS feeds)
  • Tab Mix Plus (adds functionality to tabbed browsing)
  • VideoDownloader (allows downloading of video from streaming sites)
  • PDF Download (gives choice of whether to download, open, or ignore PDF links)
  • GMail Manager (email notifer)
  • Colorful Tabs (makes each tab a different colour)
